Guidelines For Finding ISPs Service.
Use our seven step guidelines to help you select an
Internet service that is right for you. Select an ISP with a payment rate
that you can afford, and get the neccessary features based on:
- Price and rates - Above
all, price is what it really comes down too. There are some really cheap
ISPs, but do they deliver all the features that you need for the price,
or is their customer service weak? Remember, sometimes you get what you
pay for.
- Experience - For some
souped up high speed providers or some ISPs, you will need to have
tremendous computer skills to use their services. Go with an ISP whose
services you can understand at your level.
- How easy is the setup? -
Some ISPs require you to be an expert Internet user to install their
software. Select an ISP that has automatic setup software or is
compatible with dial-up networking.
- Technical/customer service
- Getting an ISP that has free technical help is a must. Avoid ISPs that
may charge by the minute for help, it's a service that could be costly.
- Web Based Email - Choose
an ISP that has web based email. This way you can access your email from
any computer anywhere on the planet. Spam and Junk mail filters are a
major plus.
- Cancellation Policy -
Avoid ISPs that lock you into a long term contract, or has cancellation
fees. It's important to know each ISPs cancellation policy before you
start.
- National Service -
Select an Internet service that has thousands of access numbers. This
will cut down on any possible busy signals and will allow you to travel
with the service.
